The Senator from Arizona is a voice of common sense.
I always believed it was odd when Sheriff Joe Arpaio was hit with a misdemeanor charge when they could have charged various felonies. If he was charged with a felony he would then have an absolute right to choose a jury or bench trial. With a misdemeanor charge then its up to the judge and when Arpaio requested a jury trial he was denied. The judge in this case was a diehard Democrat. There was no way she wouldn’t find Arpaio guilty. I don’t believe a jury in Arizona would have found Arpaio guilty. Obama wanted to make an example of him and they did.
